It’s not that bad of a time frame for Florida – here’s why. Ours was 3 weeks ago in St Pete (HOTTTTTT) and sunset was at 8:19pm – you can look up online for your wedding date when the sunset time will be. The ceremony started at 6:00, and lasted 15 minutes at most. After that everyone went to the covered area for the reception, so the heat wasn’t a big deal (and if your party is inside then that’s even better). The 9pm ending can be a good thing because 1) it lets the old folks have an out, and 2) leaves time for an after party for your younger guests. Our reception went until 10:30 and since most of our guests were older, the place got kinda slow around 9:30pm when they all went home. Leu Gardens is BEEEAUTIFUL!
I think the place is beautiful! And if its in your price range and has the look you’re going for that would win out for me over the timing and heat since guests would only be outside for an hour tops. I know that’s a long time to feel hot though too. I would say keep looking a bit more, but if nothing else appeals to you a lot more then the timing certainly isn’t a deal breaker.
Loved hanging out today! So glad we will get to see each other again in a couple of months.
Honestly, if you are sold on the place aside from the time-table, then I say GO FOR IT! Planning a wedding is stressful enough. If you love the place, then who cares if its warm (and I lived in Ft. Lauderdale for several years so I’m familiar with the florida heat). It might help if the ceremony is short, so I guess it depends on what you were planning for that.
