Skrappy, The Scrapbooking App With Everything – iPad App Review

The iPad is the perfect format for scrapbooking. With all of the tablet technology that it has to offer, scrapbooking apps are quickly becoming a popular pastime. Skrappy, by Riada International brings all of the joy of typical digital scrapbooking with the revolutionary addition of including web pages and music within your scrapbook.

Most of the features in Skrappy are typical of any other digital scrapbooking app. The preset themes and clipart are limited, but this app allows you to download images from websites right into the app so you can have any number of backgrounds, clipart images and even photos. Additionally, you can add music, movies and voice memos to any page or any photo.

When you first open the app, you are given a 15-page tutorial that will give you the basics of how to import the different types of media, how to move images around, how to add backgrounds and how to export your scrapbook.  Once you have a grasp on things, get creative and see where it takes you. You can choose songs from you iPad’s music library as a soundtrack to your scrapbook. Each page can play a different song. You can even choose to have a different song play for each image and they will auto play in the order you choose. You can import photos and videos from your iPad’s photo library just as easily.  You can add web pages as images and even download clipart right from the apps internal browser. All you have to do once you have chosen it is tap and hold the image until you see a popup asking if you want to save the images as clipart. Adding your own voice memo is just a tap away with an internal voice memo for each page. More than one, if you like. There is no limit to the possibilities with these features.

You can email a PDF of your scrapbook to friends and family. If you know someone else with Skrappy, you can send them a Scrappy document instead.

The app has a few glitches to work out. For example, half the time I tried to add an image from a clipart page that was listed within the app, nothing would happen. Additionally, getting images to skew and move around can sometimes be complicated. It just doesn’t work every time. I had a couple of crashes while trying this app out, but luckily the scrapbook pages were still there when I reopened the app.

What I liked: Adding music to your scrapbook is the best idea ever. It adds so much depth to your creation. Additionally, adding voice memos right from the app is a great way to let Grandma and Grandpa hear from their grandkids.

Photos should be important parts of your marketing. The photos are useful

- to bring the buyers in a general positive mood

- to create identification with the use of your product.
