Awards and elections

•The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department Community Center recognized the following people at its annual volunteer celebration: Kelly Doyle , Tom Woenker , Berniece Wilkins and Bobbie DeBruce for five years of continual service; Carol Geraldine “Gerri” Cook won the 2010 Edna Berdelman award; Armand Cohodes won the 2010 Gerri junior award; Paul Knepper won the outstanding commitment award and Larry Davis won the living the mission award.

•The American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana announced its board of directors. Newly elected officers are Joel Sauer , chair; Cathy Waggoner , first vice chair; Tom Fink , second vice chair; Bill Eisenmann , third vice chair, and Bruce Molter , secretary. New board members are Scott Amburgey , Greg Dorsey , Stacey Fleming and Greg Smith . Joshua Long will begin a new three-year term and Donna Whinery will begin a one-year internship from Leadership Fort Wayne. Lois Hess and Glen Lindahl were elected to serve their second three-year term.

•The American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana honored volunteers at its annual Volunteer Recognition Night. Lois

Hess won exceptional volunteer of the year, Keith Nieberding won volunteer of the year, David Hockley won rookie volunteer of the year and the Homestead High School Key Club won youth volunteer of the year. Other award winners were Dodie Hart for preparedness and safety solutions, Albert Metel for multicultural information exchange, Bill Eisemann for accounting, Teresa

McCoy for service to armed forces, Glen Lindahl for financial development, Darlene Martin for disaster services and Eric Baker for serving on the board of directors.

•The Embassy Theatre Foundation recognized Joann Nixon for 121 volunteer hours – the highest number. It also recognized retiring volunteers Loda Amstutz for 21 years of service, Norma Juillerat for 11 years of service and Carl Wannemacher for 10 years of service.

• Brianna Snider was selected as a finalist in the National American Miss Indiana Pageant, which will be held from June 30 to July 3 in Indianapolis. Snider is competing in the 7 to 9 age group.

1st International Mail Art Exhibition in Greece: Martin Amstutz ...

With big sadness I declare to you below. Unfortunately mail art in Greece fell victim exploitation of work of art. In 2006 became in Elassona, the 1st international mail art report titled Psychedelic , with organizer project mail artist Ioanna Papachristou and figurative organizer and commissary the painter Thomai Kontou . For this report, main sponsor and organizer we had the Municipality of Elassona. With the association consulate of culture we collaborated only for the hospitality of their report in site and only for the report in Elassona. Unfortunately the persons of this association, not only exploited the report to their profit, retained our files, they retained the lists of report, that were paid by other sponsors, changed code the page of our report, (which henceforth vulgar they use also they accuse us), and unfortunately used these files misleading the foreigners same artists, organising supposedly mail art reports without they are artists, without they have never no relation with this artistic movement that is based mainly on the exchange of work between the authors. So that keeps for illegally, the work, and no one it does not know their chance.
