Preheat oven to 300 F. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl until well combined. Knead dough for about 1 minute. On a floured surface, roll out dough to about 1⁄4-inch thickness. Cut out with dog bone cutter and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool completely before feeding to pet or putting in jar. — Nancy, Virginia Preheat oven to 325 F. Combine flour, cornmeal, broth and butter and knead for 3 minutes. Sprinkle flour on rolling surface and rolling pin. Roll out dough to 1⁄4-inch thickness. Stamp with cookie cutter. Set on baking sheets. Beat egg and milk together. Brush on top of biscuits. Bake 35 minutes or until firm. Cookies will not brown when baked. Makes 4 dozen treats, depending on size of cutter. — Cody, Pennsylvania DEAR SARA: You had a teething biscuit recipe that used baby cereal. There were actually two recipes, but I am referring to the one that had shortening, sugar, egg, baking powder, salt, vanilla, water, and cereal. The ingredients list baking powder but the directions say baking soda. The ingredients list 1 egg, but the instructions say eggs. It also doesn't say how big to make the rectangle, or how thick. Could you please clarify these for me? — Karen, email DEAR LOIS: You'll need: 2 cups vodka or rum, six vanilla beans cut into 1-inch pieces and a jar with a tight lid. Combine vodka and vanilla beans in jar. Cover the jar and let stand for at least six weeks in a cool dark place. Shake mixture several times a week. After half the vanilla extract is used, add more vodka to cover the beans. The flavor in the beans is gone when the vodka no longer turns to a dark amber color. You can find 30 vanilla beans for $9.99 on eBay.Cut Out Cookie Recipe - News

He was reluctant to give out the recipes, as they were a secret. I don't think this was quite true. I think he threw ingredients together with such abandon that he had no measurements. One day, I stood by and measured everything he put in.

Baseball and Ballet: Wednesday recipes!
Sadly I have not had a chance to make the chicken spaghetti that I posted about last week. To be honest we have only ate one dinner at home since last Thursday. With Brock's baseball and Ava's dance recital we have been on the go so much that it has just been easier to order pizza or get subs for dinner rather than cook. Last night baseball was cancelled because of the rain so we were able to eat together, which was a nice treat! After dinner Graig took Brock and Ava to the mall so Brock could look at a new phone and I decided to try to make some cookie favors for Brock's 8th grade graduation party which is next week. I am SO bad at baking cookies. For Ava's cookie party I always get the tubes of cookie dough and the frosting in the can. I have just always hated making cut out sugar cookies.
